My Cincinnati Staycation Experience at Lytle Park Hotel

You don’t always have to travel far to feel those vacation vibes, and this is definitely true for my experience having a Cincinnati “staycation” getaway at the Lytle Park Hotel downtown.

As a local, one thing I’ve loved doing over the years is exploring my city with the lens of a visitor. This can make everyday sites more intriguing, and has led to many fun experiences over the years!Lytle Park Hotel. Best hotel in Cincinnati. Nicest hotel in Cincinnati.

Whether a visitor or local, the Lytle Park Hotel is truly beautiful, and has so much to offer! Learn about our staycation experience below:

I’d like to thank the Lytle Park Hotel for hosting us in exchange for this review. As always, all opinions are my own! Also, some links in this post are affiliate links, and I may earn a commission.

If you’re looking to stay in the heart of Cincinnati, and in a chic boutique hotel at that, then Lytle Park Hotel is your spot!
Where Is It? Located in the Lytle Historic District (right by the Taft Museum), the hotel is within walking distance to the main sites in downtown Cincy. Even amidst the craziness of the city, it has a private feel.

When you first arrive, there is valet parking available, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating from the moment you step foot inside.

Lobby Bar: When you first enter the hotel, you can’t help but notice the beautiful entry with its bar and iconic light fixtures. Here you can savor expertly crafted cocktails, craft beers, or a diverse selection of wine.

Off to the side of the bar, you can watch wood-fired pizzas being cooked up, or listen to live music at the piano. It’s a great place to socialize or even cozy up to the fireplace in winter months.

Beer & Wine Garden: The adjacent outdoor terrace area is called the “Subito Beer and Wine Garden”, and has beautiful city views while also serving up some great drink and appetizer options.
Here you can enjoy a curated selection of local beers and wines, plus dishes like the popular Subito Burger or Strawberries & Burrata. | See the menu here | Open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 4 to 10 PM.
The first order of business for our staycation was to come out on the terrace! My husband enjoyed some oysters, and I opted for the baked goat cheese dish.
Of course we both enjoyed some wine too. Our server was super helpful and had all the best suggestions!Food at Lytle Park Hotel Beer and Wine Terrace in Cincinnati

Subito Restaurant: I had been to dinner at Subito before, and I was very excited to return as part of our local weekend getaway! | See the full Subito menu |
I’m not lying when I say this is a hidden gem in Cincy. It truly has some of the most delicious pizza (See my Instagram Reel about Subito!). I’m not typically a huge salad lover either, but at Subito… I am!

Fantastic food we have had at Subito!
Here, diners can also enjoy homemade pasta, from-scratch sauces, and expertly seared steaks. They also have super fresh seafood, delivered daily from the ports.
Subito also has a raw bar, and traditional antipasti- so really something for everyone. They’re open Monday-Saturday from 6:30 AM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

The Rooms: While we spent most of our staycation getaway enjoying the food and drink options at the hotel, we were also very impressed with our room.king room at lytle park hotel
With a simple yet sophisticated design, I love the overall comfortable feel, and appreciate the luxury-filled touches.
There are 8 different style rooms to choose from (see the room list here), and we stayed in the Meadow King. It was truly so cozy and quiet, but still easy to hop down to the restaurant or up to the rooftop bar.
The robe and slippers are easily my favorite part, but the spacious and elegant marble bathroom and rain style shower are nice too!

The hotel also set us up with chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne (to celebrate the fact we had one night away from our kids!).
Reach out to them before your stay to let them know about any special events or celebrations.

Vista at Lytle Park: At this trendy rooftop spot, you can indulge in some tasty bites or your favorite cocktail.

They’re open Monday-Thursday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Friday-Saturday from 4:00 PM to midnight.

More to Explore: The hotel property also has a workout center, meeting rooms and event spaces, and more!

We spent some time exploring the bottom floor, and I love the special touches paying homage to Cincinnati history, and the history of the building itself.
The final piece to a great weekend getaway was to take advantage of room service. We had breakfast delivered to us in the morning, and it was truly SO delicious!
I got banana mascarpone French toast, and I still think about it from time to time.
